Belfast tennis player Aryia Pringle Quinn has won the ITF J30 Under-18 title in Wicklow aged 14, beating Great Britain’s Shravanti Venkatakrishnan 7-5, 6-1 in the final on Saturday 31 October.

The tournament at Greystones Lawn Tennis Club brought her up against players from across Europe and beyond. She came through that field before securing the trophy without dropping a set in the final.

Aryia developed at Hilden Tennis Club and is coached by Gordy Watt. Tennis brand Head has recently agreed to sponsor her, while her progress also earned her selection for a Tennis Europe training camp during the summer.

Aryia said: “This tournament gave me great experience and confidence. It has been challenging and enjoyable and I’m incredibly proud to have won.”

Looking towards further competition, Aryia said: “With every tournament I’m learning more, improving my game and preparing for the next one.”
