PSNI investigate possible link between Cupar Way arson incidents
Police are examining a possible link between two Cupar Way arson incidents and want witnesses or anyone with dash-cam footage to contact them.
Police are examining whether two arson incidents on Cupar Way in north Belfast are connected, following a car fire reported on Thursday 22 October. The PSNI has appealed for witnesses and footage, The Irish News reports.
A white Seat Leon outside a property was reported alight shortly after 1.15am on Thursday. The vehicle sustained scorch damage, and police believe accelerant had been poured over it. They are treating the fire as deliberately started. The car has since been removed.
The earlier incident, on Monday 19 October, involved accelerant being used to ignite a car. Flames spread to another two vehicles parked outside a property. One car was gutted and the others suffered extensive damage.
As enquiries continue, police want to hear from anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area at the time, or who has dash-cam recordings or other footage.
